I directed the music video for Jessica Mauboy’s Little Things, a project that demanded raw emotion and complete vulnerability. We shot 12 takes, but this one was always the standout. Just minutes before we rolled, I said to Jess, “Sing it to me like you’re at your parents’ funeral.” What followed was an extraordinary performance—unfiltered, heartfelt, and deeply moving. Shot in a single continuous take, the video captures every nuance of Jessica’s connection to the song, with the minimalist setting allowing her emotion to take centre stage. It was a moment that truly brought the story to life.
